Interchange is one of the few city-wide food pantries in Milwaukee. It serves guests regardless of their zip code. In 2024, we anticipate serving over 60,000 guests.

Your  support will help us sustain our four key programs in 2025:

  1. The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program                                                                                            This cornerstone initiative ensures access to high-quality, nutrient-rich, culturally relevant fresh produce. Since donated fruits and vegetables are often insufficient or of poor quality, we purchase 97% of what we provide our guests from Milwaukee wholesale suppliers. The estimated cost of this program in 2025 is $135,000

  2. The Interchange Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway
This program provides underserved families with a Thanksgiving meal with a turkey, traditional sides, and fresh produce. In 2024, we served 1,358 families between two pantries the weekend before Thanksgiving.

  3. The Protein Plus Program
We aim to provide each guest with 15 grams of protein per pantry visit to support their health and development. Due to limited protein donations, we anticipate a program cost of $48,000 in 2025. Protein is vital for growth, repair, and overall health, particularly for children, teens, and pregnant women.

  4. The School's Out for Summer Peanut Program
Summer months can be challenging for children who rely on school meal programs. Peanut butter, a shelf-stable protein, helps bridge this gap. While we hold peanut butter drives throughout the year, we spent $6,500 in 2024 to ensure availability from May through September.
